Continuing Pottery Lessons

CA$300.00

$600 total - Deposit of $300 payable now, the remainder of $300 cash payable at first session. (deposit is non-refundable)

Evenings, 6pm - 9pm

July 4th to Sept 5th. There will be a total of 8 lessons. Each lesson is 3 hours long.

2 weeks that classes will not happen, as Amy will be on vacation: July 18th and August 15th.

Who’s it for? People who have had a brief experience with pottery, either through taking a beginner lesson or with a friend teaching them. If you know what “centering”, “glazing”, and “pulling the wall up” mean, and have tried it, but you definitely would like more practice doing these things, well this class is for you!

We will play around with making different shapes on the wheel, practice throwing larger amounts of clay, and perfect our trimming & glazing skills.

What you get:

  • 8 “sessions” (3 hours on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm)

  • The use of the wheels and studio space (work tables).

  • A shelf/cubby to store works in progress

  • Kiln space to fire your 10 pounds of clay.

  • Use of studio glazes

  • 10 pounds of Cone 6 stoneware clay (Tucker’s Mid Smooth Stone)

Additional purchase options:

  • Extra clay and additional space in the kiln.

Terms and conditions:

  • The cost of the 8 sessions are $600 total; a $300 deposit now and $300 cash on the first day (no e-transfers)

  • The deposit is holding your place in the class and is non-refundable. Missed classes are non-refundable.

  • If there is a snowstorm or the road isn’t plowed, the class will be rescheduled. It’s possible that Amy’s driveway will not be plowed but the road is cleared (then the class will continue). Rescheduled classes will occur on the next week after the last class. Amy guarantees that you will have the availability of 8 sessions.

  • There will be a “intro to the studio” short lesson on the first day.
