Beginner Pottery Lessons, Thursday, PM

CA$600.00
Sold Out

Thursday Evenings, in January and February

There will be a total of 8 lessons. Each lesson is 3 hours long.

Who’s it for? Beginners who want to try pottery for the first time! You don’t need any experience to take this class.

This class will take people through the very first steps of making pottery in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.  You will lean how to wedge clay, center and throw on the wheel, make a cup & mug, bowl, and make a plate.  You will also have an optional slab building lesson, handles lesson, and glaze testing lessons.  Then you will glaze all your pieces on the last class.

There will be max 5 people in this class, with a wheel available for each person at all times. Nice, small class sizes will ensure that you get the instructions you need. Learn from Paige Fraser, an experienced potter who has her own pottery business.  Paige is patient, kind, and super creative!

Winter storms - If roads are to dangerous to travel on, a class may be rescheduled into March to ensure that students receive 8 lessons.

What you get:

  • 8 “sessions” (3 hours)

  • The use of the wheels and studio space (work tables).

  • A shelf/cubby to store clay.

  • Kiln space to fire your 10 pounds of clay.

  • Use of studio glazes

  • 10 pounds of Cone 6 stoneware clay (Tucker’s Mid Smooth Stone)

Additional purchase options:

  • Extra clay (available at the studio to purchase), and extra kiln space.
